This happened to my 06 CRD but it's probably applicable to most KJs.

I got this KJ a few months ago. I picked it up in AL and drove it to MI without an issue. When the summer heat started getting bad, it started dragging the front brakes. At one point, it got so bad that the brakes would hang up to the point that I needed to goose the throttle just to keep parking lot speeds. And, if I stopped, it needed significant throttle just to get moving at which point, it would jump ahead. I ended up hitting a parking lot barrier and damaging the front bumper cover.

I pulled the front wheels off expecting hanging calipers to be the cause. Either stuck pistons or rusty pins. But this is an Alabama car. There's no rust on it's undercarriage at all. The pins were well lubed and the caliper slid freely. When I was in the process of replacing the right front caliper that I had just set aside to get to the pins, I noticed that there was a 360 degree twist on the line. The pads looked new so I'm assuming that whoever replaced them turned the caliper completely around . It looked like a piggy's tail. I undid the twist and it's been driving fine ever since.

The odd thing is, the left side had some drag as well though not as bad as the right and the line was not twisted there. However, once the right side was made right, there has been no drag from either.

Anyway, just something to keep in mind should you experience the same as I.

Cheers
