If you do not do alot of rocks, The 4 stock mopar skids are fine, if you like rocks, get aftermarket.

I have the OME lift and the ride is great from stock. Remember, this lift is only around 1.5-2in so it may not be enough for you, and it cost around $650 new. Al J's sells them. The rear shocks are only about 1/2 longer than stock so you will not get much more flex when taking the rear sway off than you would taking it off stock.

Boulder bars are great.

If you want the highest lift, the franken lift is the best from All J's.

ok i have contacted a guy that does custom fab work and he is booked up tight
i am thinking rustys skid and all J's bolder bars?
then have him beef up the rustys skid build some type of mufler skid and fix or build a new front skid so i can do away with the "shovel"
i was thinking about a font skid that went all the way to the front bumper and tied in with the tow hooks??
and for the mufler a small piece that went on an angle from the x-fer case tothe unibody and maby tied in to the
sliders??
any thoughts??

The stock front engine/suspension skid is more than sufficient for the KJ, I have beat mine real bad, and no problems.

Also I have a brand new one to sell...

no its not bad but it acts like a shovel
it digs in real bad and fills up with mud
i want to extend it up so that it stops and helps me get up rather than dig in

you are wasting your time with rusty's skid. it decreases ground clearance and if you have a 2004 or higher chances are it wont fit without quite a bit of drilling and cutting (even if they say it is the right one)

now for a lift you cant go wrong with rusty's, but for the engine skid, steer clear

I think it's what I call the "Mud Induction Hole" in the front MOPAR skid. Out here in the Midwest, that access port in the skid for servicing the front diff really "shovels" in the mud and rocks.

If you're looking for rock rails, you might check out Rock Lizard's Skink Sliders. He's still working out some kinks as far as I know, but if you preorder them before the 31st I think, you can still get them for $213 plus shipping. Check out rocklizardfabrications.com. As far as the muffler goes, I think most people would recommend just getting a new muffler installed, the Flowmaster 40 and 50 series are supposed to tuck up higher, and be tougher than the stock muffler.

Maybe you saw the older (obsolete) model, not the one that turns up infront of the sway bar.

Do you have any pics of this skid mate? So it curves right up infront of the sway bar, and extends all the way back under the transmission to the cross member in front of the transfer case? And that's part # 82209026, yes?

Interesting. I wonder if it'd fit on an '02 KJ?

Ed, I think they misprinted my sheet or something screwy is going on with the dealer.

This is the engine skid for sure.

Ed, Here is the sheet that came with it

http://www.thefergusons.us/kj/kj.htm

Maybe I'm missing something here...I'm just going by what the dealer is telling me ???
