Thanks for the welcome and the latin which I have yet to translate. The dual battery system is a tight fit at the front of the engine bay on the right side looking under the hood and some things had to be rearranged. The electronics and battery tray and fittings are by Piranha Off Road Products and the batteries by Exide. The auxilliary fuel tank is baffled and robust steel and is fitted under the chassis and fuel is pumped over into the main tank when required via the main filler pipe. The capacity is 40 litres and was installed by Brown Davis Automotive (www.browndavis.com.au). Let me know if you need more info. Both suppliers have websites and the Piranha has the fitting instructions for download as well. |

I've seen the Piranha fitting instructions - they did not seem friendly - did you do it yourself? Brown Davis - doesn't list the KJ only the XJ - was it a custom? (although the last time someone mentioned Long Range tanks - they were seriously expensive and the shipping about the same - I doubt that will change unless there's a US distributer) The latin is a quote Quote: Hitchens' razor is a law in epistemology (philosophical razor), which states that the burden of proof or onus in a debate lies with the claim-maker, and if he or she does not meet it, the opponent does not need to argue against the unfounded claim. It is named for journalist and writer Christopher Hitchens (1949-2011), who formulated it thus:[1][2]
“ What can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence. ” Hitchens' razor is actually a translation of the Latin proverb "Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur", |

Hi again. My contact at Brown Davis is Kevin Sharp and he often visits the US for trade shows and may have a dealer there. I had to get the tank fitted at their factory in Melbourne (1000kms from Sydney) so I turned into a driving holiday as well. They have done a few KJs coupled with LPG conversions. The installation cost about $1600. The tank has a nominal capacity of about 55 litres but I can only get 40 litres in and out. For the Dual Battery System I used an ARB dealer called Mannell Motors here in Sydney and the cost was around $1500. (nothing's cheap for my jeep!) Thanks for the latin quote. Google tranlates it as "freely given freely denied". Best wishes |
