I opted to rebuild mine. Have the rebuild kit in the kitchen and the tranny in the back of my Astro, actually.

About $200 and we'll use my friend's garage for the rebuild.

Mopar 42RLE rebuild kit on eBay, it was Steve White Motors (Jeep dealer in NC).

Just be careful, take it slow, follow the manual, keep everything clean once you've opened it up and you'll be okay. If you can get help for the actual rebuild, that's real good. If you only feel like dropping the transmission and having a shop do the rebuild (and provide them the parts), the cost will be much lower.

With a lift, you're better off than I am. I have it on jack stands in the back yard.
