i live in jonesboro, ar and i bought the tommudd lift 3.5 life and was wonder what should i expect to have this installed. Ive checked around and found one shady tree mechanic on craigslist that will do it for 150 which i feel is kinda on the cheap side and then one shop here in jonesboro, ar that wants 600 plus 60 for the alignment? is that to much. any suggestions from people in north arkansas? |

It all depends on what they charge per hour and how long they think it takes Some seem scared of doing a lift but its basically just replacing parts Just remember they have to tear down the front springs so a spring compressor is involved , not sure if they know that. Also the Ironman coils are tight, meaning once you get them compressed there is not much room to remove the "fingers" of the spring compressor. May question them to see if they have ever done any lifts on a KJ first. Someone that knows what they are doing should be able to knock it out in 3 hours easy plus time for alignment |

I had mine installed in 2 hours for 200 plus alignment....so 260. I dropped it off at the shop. Went grocery shopping with the wife and got a call it was done. The local shop saw what I had and had pictures of a other guy jeep liberty that was lifted with OME with ARB and RL rear. Pretty sweet ride Sent from my Home Phone using Tapatalk |

Why not install it yourself? Im sure there is someone you know that has some sort of mechanical background, sure you would have to take the front shocks and springs into a local shop for them to swap out but that will take about 30mins and only cost about 50-60 bucks. Plus doing it yourself you will get to know your Jeep better and can see how all the suspension components work. |

When I did mine I was lazy and already had my other KJ taken apart atleast 10 times so i know my jeep really well. So I had the money and the time. There's a great frankylift how to somewhere here. Thats what I used the first time when I did mine. If your in south east texas....doubtful...but you can swing by and we can install it. Sent from my Home Phone using Tapatalk |

im up in north east arkansas. i would do it myself but i don't believe i have the tools or locatoin to pull off a job this big. I would be trying to do this job in my driveway on with a socket set. When i lived down south arkansas i had a garage and a full array of tools at my disposal but since i moved up this way im kind of screwed and at the hands of the mercy of local mechanic shops. By the way thanks for all the suggestions and offers for help. This is a great community. |

That's all you really need is a sockets set and a wrench or two some jack stands and a little bit of time. If you can mount a supercharger like you said over on jeepkj swapping out some coils and shocks would be a breeze. |

If you ever come through SC we could swap it in 2 hours flat done 4 so far without a hiccup. Even have a guy who does old school alignments for 50 bucks and can honestly say he is the best I have seen. |

I did mine in my garage with some jack stands, a socket set and some open ended wrenches. Just make sure you have a set of deep sockets and maybe a small breaker bar. Also, if there is an autozone or O'Reileys near you they will loan you a spring compressor and torque wrench |

okay so now that the lift is done what is the difference between 245/70/16 and 245/75/16's i found a good deal on kumho venture at's and i read really good all around reviews on them i just don't know what the real difference is in them. i think the middle number means the hieght of the tire but wouldn't the 75's look better then the 70's? I ended up doing half the lift kit and couldn't get the axle loose on the front end so i took it somewhere to get it done. End measurements this morning are 23.5 rear 21.5 front.. tommudd 3.5 lift kit |

Someone will chime in if I am wrong but I think the middle number (70/75) is the percentage of tread width or sidewall height or whatever you call it. Did you get the HD front springs? Mine have settled a lot from the install over a month ago so I'm sitting around 22.7 even front and back. I was lower in the front until I installed the clevis spacer. (same lift as yours) Take some sand bags or somethign heavy and put in the back to help the rear settle to even it out faster. |

Nah that is the same spacer I got myself. As Tom told me you can play around with different spacer sizes as every jeep is different to even it out. I'd say maybe order the .500 spacer and try that since it's not much money and see if that gets closer to evening it out or get some conduit nuts to use.. |
