Post subject:  daystar, revtek or rough country

i was wondering if anyone knew anything on these lifts. i believe they are all poly spacer lifts. i have read some good and bad about other companies but haven't seen anything on these three. i'm running 235/70's on american racing baja 16 x 8's and have running on my inner fenders. i would like to go to 245's and use my american racings but will never get to with out a lift. $750 for a frakenlift seems a little high. any help would be appreciated.

The lifts you are talking about are all spacer lifts( no springs). We have used the Daystar and Rev Tech and they work good. The Rough Country??? Anyone used it yet??? The 245 should not be a problem with these kits. The Rev Tech is a 2in. kit if I remember right and the Daystar is like 2.5 in. You would need tohave a strut compressor to install these kits or take the removed strut to a shop that can do it for you. The Frankinlift is an assembled strut... remove the old one and install the new one. later...Clint

$450 (raised price?) for rusty full coil lift. Best Bang for the buck for sure.

Where are you seeing it for $450? The website is saying $465, I know $15 isn't much , but it could be.

If you're spending $400+ for a lift (which is not truly complete without new tires) and worried about 15 bucks, chances are you shouldn't be spending $400+ for a lift.

i'm a sales manager and a certified mechanic at a Goodyear service center so i am not wooried about the mechanics or alignment issues. i can handle all of those. i have just read about people complaining about the spacer lifts. i have seen that they ride poor or make the spring bang off the ball joint. i always see the guys from kjwest being spoken highly of for what they are doing and just wonder what they run. does the rusty kit come with all 4 springs plus the shocks and struts. i dont want to spend $200-$300 for a spacer lift to find out its junk. i dont forsee myself doing any hardcore wheeling so i also dont want overkilll. also, does the kj behave differently in the snow with a lift and bigger tires. we get a ton of snow here in Pa. so that is also a consideration. thanks for teaching!!!!

The Rusty's kit is the best overall value. It doesn't cost much more than a spacer lift and includes all four springs plus shocks/struts.

By the time you get the OTT or Combo kit, and add rear shocks, you are close to Rockfather I prices (it has shocks included). Any thoughts on the Rockfather I?
