I have a 2006 Jeep Liberty Sport, approximately 92,000 miles. Once it gets warm here in NY state, the Jeep begins to make a thunk/popping noise when braking. It only happens once when braking, and not all the time, especially when you take it easy. I have replaced u-joints, sway bar bushings, end link bushings, and strut bushings. Still it presists. My dad says to try calipers...from what I have read, I think motor mounts, at least the passanger side, may be the way to go?

What do you guys think?
thanks

Whats the condition of your front driveshaft cv joint next to the transfer case? Mine was clunking like that as well as a few other noises.

checked it all over again tonight. Nothing stands out. The CV shaft was solid with no unusual movements. Motor mounts were solid...i was expecting worse, but they were fine. Maybe a ball joint?
