Still have our 06 CRD which is nothing but trouble....the latest is that I have bled the fuel filter 4 times since changing the filter and it won't start sometimes unless I bleed it again!
Then it starts and runs great...
Have made sure the banjo fittings are tight, the hose clamps also. The filter body cannot be turned tighter, so how's the air getting into the system?
I did not use new copper washers on the banjo fittings but???
Also,2 weeks ago I pulled onto the interstate and accelerated to 70mph no problem, about 1/2 throttle, then as we continued up the hill the speed fell off to 60, then 50 which I was able to maintain to the top. Stopped at first exit, shut off engine, 10 minutes later restarted ok and drove away on 300mile trip with no further trouble....
Any help appreciated.
Have done EHM and disconnected egr valve. New MAP sensor.

Did you remove the old rubber seal when you changed the fuel filter?

If you left two seals in (one old, one new), it can behave like that.

Did you hear about the guy who was hooked on brake fluid?
He swears he can stop any time.

Goudey if you have a CRD question - you should post it in 'CRD Love that torque' - you'll get more responses.

although on air in fuel the number one issue tends to be the old style fuel head leaking at the heater plug

second leak issue is at the tank where the fittings are for pressurized lines and the diesels are pulling a vacuum from the engine.

I was having the same issues. I replaced the fuel lines at the tank with rubber fuel hose and added a lift pump. Fixed the issue 100%
