As far as I know they have a common bell housing pattern for engines like the power tech 3.7, magnum v8, the wranglers 3.8 minivan motor, and possibly the old mopar v8s like the 318, 360.

I doubt that version has the same bellhousing as the 3.7 but I could be wrong. What definitely won't fit is the rear of it, the output shaft is going to be wrong and the housing won't bolt up to your transfer case.

Something else to consider is the NV3500 5 speed manual that earlier KJs had. It would have been an OEM option for your year. The NSG 370 is cool for the fact that it is a close ratio trans...has an extra low first gear like 4.46:1 whereas the 3500 isblike 4.00:1. Also, 5th gear in the nsg370 is direct drive where the 3500 has direct drive 4 th which is more common. speaking only from personal experience here, the low gears and close ratio of the nsg370 make big tires and stock diff gears not impossible. I have 245 75 tires and the stock 3.55 gears in my diffs and I do just fine. Regearing is still pretty necessary, but maybe not as critical an issue as with an auto.
