I purchased 2 hayden coolers one for the tranny and the other one for the motor. I wanted to know from those that are running tranny coolers did you replace it or add to the stock cooler? Not sure on how I want to set it up. |

Your KJ only has a stand alone trans cooler.The best way for the trans is to install a radiator for a '02 KJ with the built in trans cooler then route the trans fluid through it 1st then to the stock stand alone cooler,then back to the trans.Just stacking stand alone trans coolers can be bad since it will run to cold and then when really pushed hard still will not handle the temp spikes like a in-radiator trans cooler by itself. |

Thanks TJKJ. Got a few days off to PMCS the KJ and install parts that are collecting dust in the garage. Hopefully get to tackle the oil coolers while I'm at it. |

I installed the 02 radiator in my old kj for the transmission cooler. The transmission light never came on again. Even while climbing over13,000 feet in four low. |
