Post subject:  Another front end noise gremlin

I have been chasing down some noise gremlins on my front end. I had a creaking noise upon start up from a dead stop from the front end, almost like a over tight bushing, then it would follow with a knocking soung. It appears to cycle with the front suspension. I went back through everything on the front end after the suspension went in and re torqued all of the front end components. I have also changed out the sway bar bushings, and end links withh moog replacements, tightened and torqued with the vehicle on the ground. The knocking seem to be substantially better for a few days, and now is getting louder. I don't feel anything in the steering, no reduction in driveability. While looking at the end links today, they seem to be slightly off angle with the sway bar. I'm going to pull the links back off in the morning and go slowly around the block and seem if that may be the cause, if not, where else should I look. Confused??? It cant be this hard to track this noise down. Front drive shaft temporarily removed so I know it's not the cv. Any thoughts?

When installed did you tighten the UCAs and sway bar links with the vehicle on the ground ? If not then there lies your problem.
If you did then just loosen everything and snug back up

Yes Tom everything was torqued to spec on the ground. I'm going to pull they sway bar links and see if that may be my problem. Other than that I'm at a loss?

Due to time constraints I could not get time to do the lower ball joints myself. I called jeep customer care and they said the recall still applies even though it had been done in 2007. I called my local dealer and they are being installed as I type, alignment, and a free oil change for the inconvenience. Wow
