| Post subject: | 1776 and 0700 codes with KJ not wanting to shift? |
Im new to the forum and im not sure if this is the right section for this post so I apologize in advance. Lately my 04 KJ has been getting stuck in the 2nd/3rd gear and throws both the 1776(Ignition retard request duration fault) and 0700(transmission control system(MIL request)) codes. Turning the truck off and on seems to remedy the situation but its becoming more frequent now. Anyone else ever have this issue or have a clue whats going on? |

When my '99 WJ was throwing these codes I changed both the transmission speed sensors, and the CEL and hard shifting went away. PITA to get to, but it can be done. Voila!!!! |
