Oh I don't disagree. I always thought it cost a couple grand to get it done. If I'd known it wouldn't be near that I woulda done it a long time ago. |

What did you pay for installation? Did you buy the gears separately and have a shop install them for you? I'm trying to figure which direction to go on the rear axle - I've got a front diff from a 4 cyl Libby in the garage. Bob |

I got everything for the front from JBA. On the rear I went through Summit. Then a buddy here in town did the install in his shop. I paid $766 for the labor and a few seals and some grease and odds and ends. |

Im guessing $1800 for parts and labor. For most places 1800 would just get you just labor. |

Well I got the front ring and pinion for like $319 or something like that plus shipping. Got the rears from Summit for like $180. Then bearings, grease and seals I think he said was another like $200ish? So I have less than 2grand in the whole thing. I always thought it would be close to 3G for the parts and labor. I'm sure some forum Nazi will come along and say it can't be done for that, but hey it's in my driveway |

Only Dana/Spicer for the fronts but I used Yukon gears when I still had the 8.25.I know use Precision Gear fronts and Motive rears(only company at the time that made thick reverse cut HP60 gear sets). |

I used the Motive rear gears in mine, been in over 60,000 miles and no problems, still look new. When I did mine an old member on here who worked at a Jeep Dealership installed my rear gears and also threw the front 4 cylinder diff in (that I picked up for 75 bucks with 5000 miles on it) for 350. So I got it done fairly reasonable |

I have about 1200 miles on my 4.10 swap. Went with Motive Gears, Rebuild kit (includes everything but outer axle seals), and Detroit Locker from Rusty's Off Road for the rear. Total for everything; roughly $925 I got an entire front assembly with 4.10's already installed for less than the price of the gears. Paid $500 for the installation (both axles). All tolled, less than $1800 for the works. Still running stock size tires for the moment, as I have less than 30K miles on the current set, and getting used to the "song" of the Detroit Locker. Unexpected bonus; EVIC readout prior to gear change had my mileage at 14.3mpg. I didn't reset it after the new gears, and after 1200 miles, it reads 15.5mpg. |
