Am I in the good direction for my lift?

Hi,

I've read a lot on lift on this forum and also on jeepkj.com

I've ended up with the following part list :

Rear shock
RS5248 (for AWD Dodge Dakota 99-04) or
Bilstein (for AWD Dodge Dakota 99-04)

Front Shock
RS5764 (for Jeep Liberty, so like the stock one I guess) or
Bilstein (for Jeep Liberty, so like the stock one I guess)

Front Spring
Ironman or
OME 2927

Rear Spring
Ironman or
OME 2948

Other stuff for the lift
Front
Clevis spacers
JBA Strut spacer plate set
Coil spring isolators
Teraflex bump stop

Rear
Lower coil Spring Isolator
Upper coil spring isolator
Hockey pucks for bump stop

Why I will may be take Ranchos is because they sell them here in Quebec at Canadian Tire so I don't have any shipping to pay.

Am I in the good way? :JEEPIN:

Will this all fit together?

Not sure why you are buying isolators for the front you can reuse the old ones
rear isolators you need 4 extra uppers ( 2 per side ) works better than extra upper and lower
FWIW I'd go with either Bilstein or OME shocks on the rear make sure if OME get the 132Ls
Fronts you can use Ironman front shocks and they are even longer than OME/Bilstein
Don't see any JBA UCAs on the list, adding what you are alignment maybe off some and you'll have more UCA/spring contact at that height

Thanks for your answer Tom, I know all of this has beeb discussed a lit of time, but I want to know if the informations Ive read are up to date.

Thats why Im asking to see if I have the right part list to do thel ift. I need good advices from poeple who know what theyre talking about.Im not new to DIY mechanic but Im new to Jeep. Ranchos are not good enough for a KJ lift? I they fit for what I want to install (OME or Iroman spring) I would like to go with them due to the shipping cost...and alsk the shock cost. For now I just do a little bit of offroad and rock crawling (not extreme) and I want to clear my 245/75r16 tires because they rub a little bit some times. Im planning on a long time basis to do a SFA conversion to do a lot more with the KJ and be almost unique.
Is a Jeep Cherokee Sport (year is around 1998-2000 I think) a good start to have part for the SFA swap?

Anyone running on Ranchos on the forum could tell me their experience? Good or bad? What is your lift setup (springs etc...)

Ranchos, if they are the RS line are not as good as the Bilstein/OME or Ironman ones available
You will not get the ride nor will they last as long as the others do.

I have noticed that Rancho has been getting a bad rap over the past few years, so you are going to hear about that. I have been VERY happy with my OME shocks/struts that came with my CRD HD kit... but that compairing them to the blown stockers that came out. The springs and shocks were so bad I ended up with just about 4.5" of lift after the install of my 1.5" OME kit> :shock:

With 245/75-16 Hankook Dynapro ATM on Alcoa 16x8's I only got a touch of rub on the fender liner/front bumper. Trimmed that back with the RL front bumper and now I only see a slight rub on the pinch-weld plastic at full lock.

Heres a picture of the Cherokee.

Stick to the 95-99, you will get the larger u-joints, non-disco axles, and the HP diff. You can muck about looking for an earlier ABS truck, but ALL 95-99 had the larger joints. 00-01 are LP axles. All XJ axles are 27-spline D35s.

They will be more than okay with your tire size.

Installed the Ironman springs front & rear with new Bilstein shocks.
Got a little better than 2" lift over the stock springs. Very happy with the setup so far!

Ride is just a little stiffer than stock, and got the lift I wanted. :mrgreen:
