I had a new drivers side CV replaced about two months ago with a NAPA reman and the boot tore away on the engine side. My CV angles aren't maxed out, I have the DIY Frankie with OME/Bilsteins with top plate and 3 rings in the front.

Any suggestions? Did the shop that installed jack the boot up during install? The guy said he didn't remove the clevis from LCA because he "hadn't seen a lifted libby before"...

I know audioboy86 will shave the inner face down and ship one to me, would that be a better route?

I appreciate the input.

Keith

I would say he nicked it since he didn't remove the clevis.
My original left side lasted for 190,000 miles , all but 20,000 of those lifted

I figured he did after he said he "wedged" it in there. :banghead:

So should I just buy a new remaned one and slap it in there myself or would a cut CV be better this time around?

The passenger side is still going strong, its the OEM one too. Only reason I swapped the drivers side originally is I hit something in the road and it tore the boot.

I'm running a NAPA remanned on mine without any issues
I'd just trade that one in to NAPA, 55-60 bucks and you're done ( after trade in)

Yes if he "wedged" it in there you almost know he nicked it. I've tried doing that and no way is it going to fit and not hit
