I have a 2005 KJ CRD with stock suspension and tires/rims and have the opportunity to buy 5 - 17" rims with P255/75R17 tires (2 year old Goodyear Wranglers with 400 miles on them) along with the shocks and springs from the 2011 Wrangler. Will any of these items work on my KJ (with or without minor modification)? He's asking $500 for all of it. He lifted his JK and put bigger tires on it. I feel like the rims and tires would be worth the $500 if I knew they fit my ride and the rest would just make for a fun project to see if they would work. I'll do more research when I get home, but I wondered if anyone had tried this before. Thanks, Jon |

The wheels are a 5x5 bolt pattern, KJ's are 5x4.5. Technically the wheels would work with adapters. That tire size is 32" tall, so you'd need about 4" of lift to run em proper. I see you live in Hawaii so its probably tough, but if you can find TJ wheel takeoffs they'd work. |

^^^^ what he said plus not only 4 inches of lift but also a regear should be done for that size tire then add 200 for spacers check with arengant he is running them now but selling his spacers/wheels etc soon I'd say since he is going a different route. check the tire and wheel section on some of his posts there |

I'm running those wheels and tires. Wheels were free from a friend so all I had to do was pick up tires and spacers. So for me it was cheap. I think I have $800 in all for spacer and tires. As Tom said 4in of lift. I have 2.5 now and of course rub some when the front is compressed and turning. Does not bug me but will bug some people. $500 is a really good price for the wheel and tires. You may want to pick them up and then save up for the right lift.

Well shucks! I was hoping to have stumbled onto a steal there, but if I have to get spacers, etc. it may not leave me money ahead in the long run. I haven't really lifted the Jeep. (Yet!) But I plan to do so in the next year or two. Might not be worth having the tires sit around another year waiting to fit. The rubbing probably wouldn't bother me too much, and I would be fine with pounding tin to make room for the tires. I don't know whether to jump on it or not. Just too bad that the suspension stuff won't work for a Liberty! I think I'd like to go to a 4" lift some day, but with the CRD, the short driver's side shaft has me unsure how much lift I can actually get away with. What is the cheapest I'll find a set of 4 (I mean 5) wheel adapters? And what is involved in machining the u-joint on the driver's side half-shaft? My father is a machinist and could probably do that, I just need photos/drawings to show what needs to be done. Thanks, Jon |

This is what I used. http://www.ebay.com/itm/5pc-WHEEL-SPACE ... 7c&vxp=mtr This is the same company that a lot of the landrover guys use. I used them on my disco for years and never had any issues. Do a search for shaved CV. |
