So the woman's Liberty died yesterday on her way to work. Before this happened she observed the battery light come on and the electronic throttle control light flash. Would these two items be related to the situation? Anyway, I checked into it a bit. The battery was dead when I got there (had 10 something volts). After a jump start, with my car connected to the battery, battery voltage was reading 12.2 volts. I was thinking the alternator in the Jeep was bad, but this also makes me wonder why the alternator in my car was not maintaining the battery. I've both the alternator and the battery from Jeep tested and both pass. I got the battery charged today and put back in the Jeep. It starts the engine ok and still has the same 12.2 volts when the engine is running. Ideas? |

I was able to pull a few fault codes. P0207 was one. Didn't find it searching here. Found this in a Google search: http://www.carobdcode.com/p0607-jeep-co ... erformance |

Well, we learned a valuable lesson. Alternator tests are not gospel. Even though the alternator passed a test on the test bench, it was still bad. I took a gamble and put a new alternator in and we now have 14.25 volts. |
