Hi guys, just found this forum, and I'm having some trouble with the sunroof on my 04 KJ. When the sunroof is completely down, the back left corner (closest to the driver's head) is not completely up, and is a little lower than the roof itself. The other side is closed completely, so I'm thinking it just went off track. I also can't use the vent button, I can hear the motor trying, but it won't go up. When I try to completely open it, there's a second where doesn't move, I hear a small clunk, and it goes back. Anyone else have this problem, and is it an easy fix? Never had to deal with a sunroof before this KJ, so I'm fairly clueless.

EDIT: Just went out and took another look at it and tried to open and close it. Now the entire back part of it is sagging below the roof and now I'm worried.

I'll take a look at mine, but is it possible that a mount/bracket is detached or misaligned? It seems that the motor / switch is working but no leverage can be applied to seat the window flush with the roof line. So the your sunroof can still open because it is still dropped to slide under the roof line is that correct?

Looking at my '06 sunroof, there is a bracket that has a pin/dowel and it tracks along the contour of support bracket that fastens to the sunroof glass. As I raise the sunroof the bracket moves forward and the pin creates the leverage against the contoured bracket and forces the sunroof up. When I open the moon-roof, the bracket retracts under the roof pulling the glass with it. Maybe I'll figure out how to post my first youtube video and share it, if it'll help. :juggle:

I have an 03 and have had some problems with mine getting stuck or not closing all the way, etc. What I have done that (so far) has fixed the problems was hold the "vent" button in for 20-30 seconds and the sunroof will shift back and forth and then it resets it self. Like I said so far it's worked each time it gets out of wack, might give it a try before tearing it apart.

jkbkwarner, that's right. It'll still retract and open, but when I close it, either it doesn't go above the roof, or one side is above the roof and one below. I'm on my phone, but I'll try to take some photos and maybe a video of it and get it on here later.
