I have an '06 and wanted to know if TC(not just ESP) is turned off when in 4-lo, and if so, is the ABS still functional. I hate that I cannot turn off TC when in 2wd/4 part-time/4 full-time. It completely screws with any parking lot shenanigans in the snow.

You could always take out the fuse...

You lose ABS with the fuse out. I usually drive with the Stability/TC off in the snow unless im on the highway, I always have because I do not like the feeling of the car correcting itself. I was actually thinking i using a switch to fake 4-Lo and thus eliminate the TC while maintaining ABS(if that is how it works)

Is this why my jeep sounds like doo doo when i try dicking around in the snow in 2wd? I always turn esp off but it still makes some god awful noises when the tires are spinning. Is that the traction control?

Probably, it is applying the brakes to try to stop the wheels from spinning.

ABS in some cases causes accidents... it was designed for people who don't know how to drive. A non-ABS vehicle with a driver that knows how to drive, can control and stop a vehicle in less distance than an ABS equipped vehicle. I've had my fuse out for 100K+ miles...

I would tend to agree if I knew no one else was ever going to drive my jeep. Or if it didn't snow twice a week here.
