| Post subject: | KJ Rear coil spring removal |
I am trying to get my rear coils off. The guy I bought this CRD from has installed a "budget lift" what a POS by-the-way. I have removed the shocks and the limiting factor is the brace that connects the rear-end to frame of the car. I am betting that if I remove the bolt that connects this the axle will then drop low enough for the springs and rubber block to come out. Thanks, Tom |

Use spring compressors. Preload the spring by lifting the work side with a jack. When the spring is compressed, place and hand tighten the compressors. Droop the axle on the work side, and remove the spring. Repeat on other side. |

Drop rear diff down as far as possible, have someone push down on the side you are working on and pop spring out or take factory jack in between frame and axle and pop it out Very easy to do no compressors etc needed |

I got in touch with Marlin. He advised jacking the opposite of axle up and remove the old spring and install the new coil. I did just that and jobs complete. Who needs those rubber lift blocks???? Thanks guys. Tom |
