Yup, quality time, swapping in new driver's hub bearing and cv shaft.

Little one did a good job clearing the driveway.

Wheel, hub, spindle, shaft.

Assembly is reverse.

I'd have taken more pics but it's just too darn cold. Re & re, torqued, road tested and checked for leaks, 3 hours - it takes a bit longer when your freezing your *** off.

The outer cv boot has been torn (small end) for some time, the noisy hub bearing was reason enough to swap the whole shaft. We're going to party like it's 1989 tomorrow night (pop, chips and parents), at a friends house 75 KM away and the Liberty is the only thing in the driveway with enough seats to bring the minions with us.

No pressure.

The bearing was tight (no movement), it wasn't easily diagnosed

- Roaring noise present over 30 KpH, improved with colder temperature?
- Dissipates when making hard right

What clinched it was jacking up the front, rotating the tire by hand while holding the spring on the coil over - you could feel the vibration from the bearing in the spring - not much, but definitely there vs. the passenger side.

The difference is night and day with the new hub and shaft, it's whisper quiet in the cab. Good news, I doubt the little ones will make it past 10 PM.
