Hi Ladys and Gents Just a question. I was driving on the M1 the other day and the ABS light and the Hand Brake light came on the dash, the speedo dropped to 0 kmh and the tacho was only sitting at 1500 - 2000rpm. I was doing 110kmh at the time, the trip meter wasnt rolling over either, i did about 40 km and it didnt change. The Cruise control doesnt work either now. Just wondering if this is somthing serious i need to know about or if anyone has had this happen and should i have it looked at , it happened later in the day too but hasnt happened since, that was 3 days ago. I have a 2003 KJ CRD Auto its up to 177,000km on the clock Thanks in advance for any ideas you may have. I have done the key on and off trick 4 times and 3 codes. P1610 , P0836 and P0340 I have seen the P0836 and P0340. P0836 said - transfer case position sensor and P0340 said camshaft position sensor circuit missing signal. I cant find what P1610 means. No ideas - might post over in CRD...Love that torque - you'll get more diesel input however 03 CRD was Oz and Europe - so you might have to explain what's different. The speedo, cruise - makes me think that you lost a speed sensor - on 05's that's a wire on the rear differential but that's pure guess. (and Google did not find P1610 for a Jeep) |

I see this is also posted in the KJ section of Ausjeep so you will get more relevant input there, but off the top of my head I would agree its probably an ABS sensor or at least that's where I would start. Look at the rear axle you shoud see a single sensor that reads off the diff. It is posible you have a broken wire where it enters the diff - I have seen that before. I'd check that to start. |
