| Post subject: | 2002 kj lift ? S |
I just purchased a 2002 jeep liberty sport and I wanna lift it. I want at least three inches would like 4 but I hear u can't go 31/2 or 4 without changing cutting the axles cvs...i cannot afford 3000 for a jeepnbyal.com lift although it seems nice. Anyone have other ideas or have achieved this amount any other way? Combos etc?? I also would like to run a bf goodrich all terrain ta 265 70 16 on a 16x7 pro comp steel wheel with 4 inch backspace I don't want to trim the inner or bumper. Any ideas as I am new but have been doing a lot of research before I start modifying. |

I have an 02 as well believe me save your money and do the iron man lift with the jba a-arms. All things considered your suspension is toast and your upper ball joints are toast too. Tried a spacer list on mine and took it off. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk |

Ironman is a manufacturer of lifts, just like OME Both are sold by jeepinbyal ( not all of his lifts are 2-3000) Both give you more than the advertised height of 1.5 inches Both are good lifts Spacer lifts are a waste especially on a 12 year old vehicle with weak springs to begin with |

3 inches of lift is easy 4 inches =$$$$$ simple as that 3 inches do OME springs/ shocks and a top plate in front and one extra upper isolator in the rear and there you are , can stay with the original upper control arms 3.5 inches you'll need the jeepinbyal upper control arms so add those in, also will need to do a 3/8 inch clevis and another extra isolator in the rear , so you've went from 800-825 to 1100-1200 4 inches will need to go to the adjustable coilover plus the JBA UCAs since if you try and go that far with OME or Ironman springs you'll have UCA/spring contact in the front Axles or do you mean CVs ? If CVs then they are fine at 3-3.5 inches of lift no problems. Plus running 265-70s 3-3.5 of lift is fine and no need to regear right away |

Being an 02 I'm sure yours is sitting somewhat lower than new stock more like the silver one here pictured ( John3:16s before lift and very weak springs) ![]() ![]() Now here is his with full spring lift at about 3.5 inches of lift and about the same height tires you'd have in the 265-70-16s

Mine is the black one , You said you wanted 265-70-16 tires and 3-3.5 inches of lift, which is what I was telling you about and showing you on the silver one Mine is above that in lift and you'll need more $$$$ dollarsfor lift, need to regear to 4.10s etc for example to replicate mine Lift $2800.00 or more depending on which one you choose upper control arms $400.00 regear $1200.00 or so at least $4400.00 right there |

well $1400 plus for lift / upper control arms etc for a 3.75 inch lift then like mentioned 1200 plus for a regear then tires ( running same kind and size as mine) / wheels |

and the lift he has is basically what I had mentioned above before and you'll need to stay that height so you don't have contact between the upper control arms and springs ( even with the JBA arms ) |

Also in some of his pics I see a coil over and a UCA n front and a spring in back. He ran 265-70-16 Treadwrights for a while before they started blowing out then went to 265-75-16 Goodyear Duratracs His setup is the normal setup we do on all of them here at my place OME springs/ OME shocks , 1/4 inch top plate and 3/8 inch clevis in front rear two extra upper isolators Yes he is regeared Do you need to? If you stay at 245-75-16 or 265-70-16 you don't have to but know going in you will lose some power and mileage if you don't If you go with 265-75-16s then yes you need to regear |
