Ok, I want to know what I did wrong.

I changed my CV axle the other evening at it took me 3 hours due to the fact I couldn't get the axle out. I unbolted the tie rod, sway bar, ball joint, lower clevis and took off the brake caliper like you are supposed to do... and then I couldn't get the axle out of the hub. I finally removed the entire hub from the LCA to get the axle out of the hub. The axle wasn't bound, it slip back and forth freely, but there was about 1/4" of thread that I couldn't get out of the hub no matter how much I turned the hub, pushed the LCA down, etc...

What did I do I wrong?

I always unbolt the upper and lower ball joint and remove the whole spindle, takes what, like maybe 4 minutes to do both, so get it out of the way and then you have room to work, no pinching the boots etc.
Some may do it differently of course
