I have already cut mine out myself, but I noticed on Amazon today that someone is finally selling an aftermarket double din dash kit for the 2003-2007 Liberty. It is made by CIP and costs $135-$170 on Amazon, including a wiring harness. Price varies depending on the finish and harness type, I think.

Here is a link on Amazon:

Did you see there's even a Mossy Oak version? Might just be my next upgrade, I hate the factory stereo.

Groovy! Wonder with LostJeep member is making these in their basement.. Haha

I would consider buying one but I bought a new head unit and new Kicker brand speakers (which haven't blown or distorted once) in the 4 doors and dash were the first purchase for my KJ way back when.

Let me know how you like it. I am this close to pulling the trigger, but have been waiting for at least one or two reviews. :D

At 134.99??? I think id rather make my own.... face it... its not that difficult with a little crafting skills. Now if it were $30 heck yeah id jump on it!

I came across those on ebay a few weeks ago. I think it's not that bad of a price considering you are paying for the trim ring as well. I would like to see better quality pictures other then the ones they show. Im thinking about getting one soon to put my avh-x8600 in. If you screw up, you are looking at the cost of another trim ring, plus materials. Most guys with little/no experience are going to be hesitant to try a 2nd time if they mess up. I've seen some that looked factory, and I've seen some hack jobs as well. I'm fine paying $134.99 for convenience and clean look. Im concerned about how evenly blended they are, and the appearance of the paint they use. $134.99 for a nicely fab'd piece would be fine. Unevenly rounded edges, highs and lows, poor blending, and splotchy paint would be a different story.

Anchorism: I made that mistake when I glassed my scanner and cb into the dash of a rig I had. The $30 it should have cost turned into $100, and the 3 day project turned into 2 weeks. Newbie's are gonna make mistakes. I ended up doing ALOT of sanding! I am ocd about things like that, and it took alot of work to get it perfect. It turned out great, and I got alot of compliments. If someone sold a kit to do that for $134, I would've gladly paid that...

I second that. So only the Limited has the silver? I guess it could be painted but what a hassle.

I'd prefer it if my limited trim were black. Maybe I'll do something about that if I decide to go with the double din kit
