I've been experiencing occasional dash gauge and warning light crashes, reset, and freezes for the past few months on my '06 Liberty Renegade, and haven't been able to track down the cause. On the one or two occasions where the dash has frozen with a buzzing sound until I can shut down the vehicle I've also received a a "No J1850 bus" error on the EVIC. The problem's only occurred on longer trips, and usually when it's raining. At the risk of jinxing myself, I haven't seen it happen the days I commute to work or run errands around town in the Libby. The problem sounds similar what what a CRD owner experienced here:

However, I've looked and cannot find the gateway module where they've described it to be in the CRD - below the driver's side headlight. I've gone from headlight to horn and can't find anything in there. Is it really well hidden, located somewhere else, and it anyone familiar with a different cause for the dash crashing?
