I am getting some inner tire rub on the front sway bar at full lock. Otherwise, OK. CRD, 2.25" lift, stock wheels, 245/70-16 tires. I have been looking at the Rubicon Moab wheels with 5.0" of backspacing. Tires are fairly new and I really don't want to destroy them. Does anyone know if these wheels will move the tire outboard enough to eliminate the rub on the sway bar? |

They would move them out just a small amount Problem is tires are too small for an 8 inch wheel would really pull the beads out apart |

I have the same size tires on 16x8 wheels. It does stretch the tires but I have no rub on the Cragar Soft 8s Sent from my LG-D801 using Tapatalk |

5" Back Spacing I'll double check on the box to confirm. Sent from my LG-D801 using Tapatalk |

Thanks Tom and LKW. My Cooper CTS 245/70-R16s are spec'd from the manufacturer to fit on a 6.5-8" rim, so I should be OK there. On the 7" wide rims they are "just" rubbing a little bit. What I am wondering is if they are mounted on an 8" Moab wheel instead of the 7" stockers, will that increase in section width of the tire by stretching them out negate the 0.5" that I gain in backspacing moving the wheel outboard with the Moabs? |

I have the Cooper htp tires and I did have rub at full lock prior to the new wheels. I don't rub now though. I have the soft 8s and a KK so I'm not sure if it'd rub or not. Sent from my LG-D801 using Tapatalk |

My tires only started to rub on the sway bar when it was lifted. |
