Whenever I have the KJ in 4hi and I lose traction with the front tires, I can hear a sound that sounds like metal rubbing on metal. Sounds about like what it sounds like when your rotors are turned; it is a very light sound, but obvious nonetheless. It goes away as soon as the tires have traction again. Does anyone else have this? Normal? Thanks! |

How would I know? When I put it in 4lo, the traction light comes on, but I don't know if that automatically means I have traction control |

What year KJ? Im pretty sure 06+ have it standard there is a switch on the column "esp" |

It's normal, but definitely disconcerting sounding. That's the electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) controller modulating the brakes on the spinning wheel(s). It rapid fire hammers the brakes (same systems as ABS) and makes a heck of a racket. |
