Whenever I have the KJ in 4hi and I lose traction with the front tires, I can hear a sound that sounds like metal rubbing on metal. Sounds about like what it sounds like when your rotors are turned; it is a very light sound, but obvious nonetheless. It goes away as soon as the tires have traction again. Does anyone else have this? Normal? Thanks!

Do you have traction control?

How would I know? When I put it in 4lo, the traction light comes on, but I don't know if that automatically means I have traction control

It's normal, but definitely disconcerting sounding. That's the electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) controller modulating the brakes on the spinning wheel(s). It rapid fire hammers the brakes (same systems as ABS) and makes a heck of a racket.
