Hi All,

On Feb 14, I drove the Jeep for about 45min and shut it off for five minutes. When I tried to start it again, it would crank over fine but it wouldn't catch. I tried giving it gas, waiting, finally after about 5-6 tries it sputtered to life and ran a bit rough for a 20-30 seconds, it was fine. It drove fine after that. When I got home I tried re-starting it and it was fine.

A few days later, the check engine light came on. I drove it for the next few days and sometimes the light would be on and sometimes it wouldn't be on. No rhyme or reason, it seemed. It's been driving fine.

Yesterday (2/20), I had to stop in at Advance Auto Parts, so I asked them to pull the codes. I got TWO P0137 codes and a P0700. That's an O2 sensor code and the generic transmission control system code. I didn't ask them to clear it and they're still on today. Any idea what's going on?

I did notice the other day that I have a habit of starting the KJ and shifting to reverse before it has fully started. My daily driver is a stick, so that's probably where I've picked up this habit--I'm assuming. Obviously when I do this, the start cuts out and the engine dies or sputters. Could this have confused the transmission control system enough to throw a code?

Any help one can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jason
