So thinking of cutting a very small bit out of the unibody bumper so nothing sticks out past the quarter panel. I would have to make another mount for the qp to keep all mounts. ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

this is what I've got so far going to look good! And strong 1/4 in welding to my 1/4in winch plate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

This above picture gives you a better look at about how much material sticks out side of the new bumper corners. So a good 4 inches in and 4-6 inches up needs to be removed and reinforced Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

No , wouldn't want to go cutting that much out of that area. |

I am concerned about cutting even more now. I have been thinking of some ways to reinforce the unibody bumper and keep it structural. No clue how I could do this but I am going to keep looking into it. My bumper caps are half done so might as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

![]() ![]() I like the way it looks so much I must search every option before deciding if I will still cut or not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I wouldn't cut it at all. I would just had a little wing to hide it up. And above the wing you already made put a turn signal in there to hide that up as well |

I would do something more like this, with steel welded back under the frame there ( could also attach it there to make it stronger since I know there is a lip under there) and also up over the end ( from the side view) more finished look to it. Cutting into that area where everything ties together isn't a good idea IMO. Cut the flare off straight and you're still going to see the whole tire just like when I had the matrix on mine crude paint work I know but ....

I haven't welded anything to my winch play so I'm free to make other wings as well. Guess I'll be modeling up some new shapes and designs. I have got a pretty creative idea to keep everything tied in structurally if I were to cut it back. Still don't know if I'm up for the fabbing task of it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Since I've been swapping around bumpers etc in the last few months, heres just another idea. I'd try the wings that they would "just" cover the frame area there with the bottom plate running right back under it ( could bolt it under there then) but then that piece that is underneath would rill right up over the end to cover that area as well . Also have it clear back against the frame right there as well, not out from it an inch or so, tight back . On top make a bracket for your turn signal and be done. With it made like that you'd have the tire and most of the suspension in view from the front and bumper/frame all tied together and should be pretty strong if you hit anything Cardboard is cheaper than metal as well |

Yup I am fortunate to be able to use both at my disposal in my welding class. I'll come up with something safe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

William Waddy cut a lot of his wheel wells, and part of what you are trying to cut. Don't know if he has had any negative effects. I would think if you cut some out, u should definitely reinforce it somehow. Obviously. |

silverkk wrote: How'd you mount that I will post some more pictures. The wings are now welded strait to my winch plate and it slips over the bumper and bolts on via the winch plate. I still want to cut out some material. I am coming up with some ways to reinforce it and attach it to the metal hoop behind the headlight to tie it all in together. |
