Post subject:  RE: Amazon funds to replace the front Coils and Strut/shocks

I mistakenly posted this thread on the "Liberty CRD ... Love that Torque!!!" area, and I'm trying to get more input from you all here, where the subject matter lines up better.

Papaindigo was kind enough to share feedback already, and I was hoping for a little more before making a few purchases.

Here's the deal:

I need to replace the old stock front coils/strut/shocks on my 2005 Jeep Liberty Limited CRD (123,700 Miles on it now), but I'm on a budget and am restricted to the funds being accessible via Amazon dot com (I'm not trying to advertise Amazon or anything, I'm just limited in where my funds are located).

I am also not a mechanic, nor do I have a space to do much of the work myself, so I'll likely be taking it to a shop to get the work done (unless you all convince me otherwise).

I did replace my KJs rear coils and rear shocks with OME 948s & Bilstein 4600s (which was extremely easy), and now it is time for the front suspension to be done (since the rear suspension is pushed up significantly higher than the front suspension).

I've been searching for the best parts that I can buy from Amazon dot com, and figured I'd ask the community here if they have any suggestions about which products might best fit my needs, given the restrictions of only buying via Amazon.

Can I, or Should I go with the coil-over "quick struts", or get the coil & shock/strut separately (and what other parts should I be getting / replacing with this whole process)?

I've found the following parts (which some reviews say good some say bad), please give me any and all feedback:

MOOG:
MOOG Part # ST8565L (Front Left) & MOOG Part # ST8565R (Front Right) = each cost ~$131.00

Since you have already lifted the rear
I'd only go with OME springs and shocks.....
if no front bumper then 927s, with aftermarket bumper 790s

Some of the ones listed I personally wouldn't install on my kiddy wagon
You've got a good set up in the rear , match the front to it.

I appreciate the feedback tommudd.

I agree that it would be best to get the matching OME set for the front as well, even if it is double the price of those other ones.

Looking at Amazon ... this is what I found, and here are two questions for the group:

1.) Are these priced in sets of 2?
2.) What other components should I make sure I'm getting for the install?

OME: ARB 90009 Old Man Emu Nitrocharger Sport Strut

OME: ARB 2927 Old Man Emu Coil Spring

Hey JdubKJ03,

Thanks so much for the research you did and price referencing.

I wish I had the ability to pull the funds out of Amazon dot com, and use them with an outstanding Jeep dedicated business like Jeepingbyal, Boulderbars, Rocky-Road Outfitters, etc ... but I don't.

I am calling the sellers on Amazon to make sure that the listed price is for the pair, rather than a single shocks/struts or coil for the price close to what it would cost for 2.

I was trying to find the OME790: FRONT COILS FOR CRD on Amazon, but couldn't find a fit.

I did find OME 927 Front Coils on Amazon, but they aren't ideal for the CRD from what I've read, but will work and I don't have a heavy bumper or winch:
"ARB 2927 Old Man Emu Coil Spring"
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004P9 ... uctDetails

The last big question I have for you, and everyone else ... WHAT ELSE SHOULD I BE REPLACING OR UPGRADING while I'm at it? (Since I'll have it all apart) ...

1.) Bushings?
2.) Arms?
3.) Anything else?

Thanks in advance.
