I've got a buddy i ride enduro moto with and he owns a few transmission shops. He didn't want to help me do a regear on my jeep. he said it's usually a fight to get em right again. I was hoping to save some money since he gives us a good labor charge but looks like ill be bringing it to an offroad shop and spending a chunk of change. I'm worried about our local offroad shop wont be able to get them installed so they will be quiet. |

If your buddy doesn't want to do it, I wouldn't force it (wise crack). I was quoted $500 per axel for labor at a local shop that services fleets of taxi's. Dealt with them before - great work! What was the 4x4 shop quoting you? While I shopped around at the few local dedicate 4x4 shops in anchorage they quoted me at $1,000-$1,100 per axel!

They quoted me 800 labor for both axles so i guess it isn't as bad a deal as I thought. Thanks for the comparison info |
