Do not have a welder. I would pay someone to make me a rear or front bumper as along as it is not to expensive. |

Instead of reinventing the wheel may I suggest you take some time to read through the CRD section, lots of info there. Also the How To and fabrication section have a lot of information as well. All the info is on here you just need to read. When I first got on here back in 2004 I spent 2-3 months reading before I posted and there wasn't a tenth of the info that is on here now |

One of the easiest things you can do is Plastidip crap. Plastidip the grill if you want. Take off the wheels and plastidip those just to give them a little pop of color aside from the generic look. You can always just peel that crap right off if you get to plastidip happy on things though so that is nice. Gives you something to do until you can afford some actual mods though. Fab up your own shelfs for the inside cargo area. Honestly what I truly recommend you do right now since you are in a pickle with money and want to start adding to your rig. Start with the most important things you will need. Recovery gear like straps etc, Make up a nice big first aid and ration kit. Get all the essentials you need for safe trail riding and to get you out of a jam. Buy a strap here and there as money comes in and so forth. Then you got all of that out of the way when you start getting the money coming in for Lifts and so on. Look at some posts here and you will find lists of important items to stock up on and have on you at all times. |

Howdy Porter before you get too carried away with Mods - check out the engine folks have a habit of trading them off just as major service is due - on the CRD that tends to be the 100K timing belt that wouldn't normally be a big deal - except there are very few mechanics who have ever seen a CRD. also check out the CRD Noob guide http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=54207 might also add for a Diesel - you might want to look at GDE engine tunes probably you best return on investment - although if you're really into computers - Yeti and Squeeto are figuring out how to tune your own ECU - over in CRD tech. |

ATXKJ I have checked the engine. Cleaned the sensor, new camshaft sensor, and some other stuff. I have not done the timing belt because I don't have the tools to do it and its very important part to do plus its expensive. I have a local diesel mechanic do stuff for me if I can't they have a motto "We can fix anything". I have done everything on the Noob guide that i've needed to do. It took me a while with school and sports but I did it. Hedsic I just plasti-dipped my car logo turned out nice if you ask me! I need some straps for sure tho. Tommud My bad for rethreading this topic. I have looked through this websites many times throughout the day its just. I just don't have time to look through 160 pages. You joined in 2005 when there was probably not that many pages. Also most of the links with pictures of people projects are outdated links so I can't see how it turned out. The old jeep liberty well they are still a KJ's but from 2005 all Liberties received a minor facelift. Here is some other things that changed to the 2005s had many visible changes, with a new front fascia, grille, fog lamps, fender flares, and body side moldings. Inside, the company moved the power window switches, added new instrument panel cluster graphics and trim bezels, and upgraded the seats. I dont want to get started with a project to just find out that it won't work but they said it work with a KJ's and I believed it. |

While true the KJs did receive a "facelift" in 05 most all information still carries over, you're not going to be moving any window buttons etc so that is a mute point. Seats are easily swapped from one to the other etc |
