The high beam headlight on the drivers side is out on our 2006 Jeep Liberty CRD.

wHAT ARE THE BEST HEADLIGHTS TO BUY FOR PERFORMANCE AND LONGEVITY?

I bought a Sylvania today and then read that they only last about a year.

Is there a plug and play harness to have the dims on with the brights?

Any lighting suggestions or links to threads would be appreciated.

Thanks

Yup, what Tom said. Just bought a set for my Jeep today.

I have them in my Astro and love them - much better than the Sylvanias that last a year (that's what they replaced). And they've lasted longer than a year - and still going - so that's a bonus ;)

What's the number for the bulbs and where do they sell them?

What kind of longevity are you getting out of them?

Has anybody tried LED's? Anything good or bad about LED's?

9007, just like all the other headlights for the Liberty. I picked mine up at Pep Boys. Says Phillips Extreme, 60% on the package.

LEDs are too directional and don't have enough of a spread beam for me. Plus, a quality replacement for traditional headlights is going to be $$$.

For some reason it says the Philips Xtreme 9007 does not fit

This does not fit your:
2006 Jeep Liberty

It does show the regular Philips 9007 as working.

Any ideas on that?

The other thing I have heard from truckers about LED's is that they do not get hot enough in the cold weather to de-ice the head light lenses

Whoops - I bought the Vision Plus (60% more light), not X-treme.

These are the older packaging and only 50% more, but

Add me as another fan of the Phillips Vision Plus headlights. I've been running those since January and they are much better than the bulbs they replaced. Best I've owned.

A potential issue with LED's is I've heard they are not hot enough to melt the snow and ice off your headlights when driving in winter weather, like halogens do.
