Would it even be possible to center a diff under a kj or make it narrower? I would think with with enough cradle/diff drop it if could be done but my big question is how much. If it was similar to the amount of drop on jba's diff drop i would put more thought into this idea. Ill never stop doing more internet ifs research so ill be back with my findings.

Umcharted territory......is this for your long travel suspension?

Anything is possible with cash, welding, and time.

Centering the diff will lead into drive train promblems. The transfer case is drive side drop.

Yes for my lt suspension in my dreams bahaha. Just keeping ideas flowing for the fun of it. I would think with widen arms and stock width diff i could get the travel desired. The extra effort on top of the extra effort for a custom ifs doesn't seem worth it. Seen some badass ultra 4 tacoma's with centered diff's and they sprung the Idea of how much drool would come out my mouth if i saw a centered diff kj. If anyone else has any insight to what would interfere the most with a design like this on a kj that would be killer.

I think best bet for long travel KJ is to just lengthen the arms. Once you start moving mounts and such, now your dealing with the engine mounts also and new cradle.

Long travel KJ isnt a huge undertaking, but someone with some $$ to make it happen.

Extend upper and lowers
Longer cv shafts
Longer tie rod
Extend brake lines and abs wire
And wider rear end to match.

Planning on going that route. I am in school for drafting design. Hopefully doing it slowly over the course of being in school along with using as much of the school facilities as I can do it without killing the bank until I have to order\make cv's and make/ order a steel diff. And maybe an 8.8 4 linked. One day.....one day....

What's the point of centering the diff? To allow more suspension droop without hitting the shafts on the cradle?

was just seeing it on a bunch up ultra 4 tacoma's. Not and option on the kj though after some closer looking.
