I'm having trouble keeping the front end of a 2002 KJ together. In the last 6 months I've had two CV joints break, one axle and replaced the rack & pinion 2X. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this kind of trouble and what the fix would be? Do I need a SFA conversion to make this work without breaking? It has been driven on trails, some challenging, but not abused IMO. It's performance off road is amazing so I'd really like to get this figured out, love the Jeep.

The Jeep has a Franken Lift with soft 8 wheels and LT265/75-16E tires. 4.10 gears in the diffs. ARB locker in the back only, the front is open.

Any ideas, feedback and options would be greatly appreciated. Brian

Im lifted 4" with 32.2s and i have no problems. There are limits to every Jeep and every Jeeps limits are different. The cvs and axle sounds like too much skinny pedal

Those that have blown a front diff was pretty much all due to too much pedal and or hopping over bumps/rocks etc.
Not proven but seems a front DTT helps some .
Not knowing where you are/ what type of places you go etc ( helps to fill out your information) hard to say what you could do to avoid .
Over 190,000 lifted around 4 inches plus and no issues

Thanks for the input. I Iive in Colorado so a lot of rocks , Also was in southern Utah.

Is there a general rule of thumb for how to use the throttle and not break parts?

I do find the throttle to be touchy especially right off idle. Does anyone make a kit or something to change that characteristic of the throttle.

Detroit truetrac. It's a limited slip for the front axle(and rear if you chose to buy 1 for an 8.25 and install it).

Check your throttle cable is my only suggestion about the performance.

Just learn to feather the throttle
Most breaks have been from spinning and then one wheel catching quickly
If you've broken several parts you should know by now what it will take and what breaks parts.
