| Post subject: | Lift/strut replacement |
Hi guys, I have a rockfather lift from All j's, installed by them. My front shocks/struts are leaking and need to be replaced. I am pretty sure i am going to buy a new set of lca, and jba uca's. Should i re use the springs and replace the struts with another set of ome's? are there more durable alternatives? what else should I change out? I am not big on suspension systems, i'm a heavy equipment/engine guy. I have about 90k miles on my lift. I have done some serious off reading in my crd, years of trail use in California. There are all kinds of clunks from this thing. |

There are all kinds of clunks from this thing. First , if you have a lift from ALLJs then it is a Frankenlift, not a Rockfather Rockfather is from RRO If you have 90,000 miles on it then its time to replace both springs and shocks. Plus since the shocks are obvious weak and leaking then the springs are the same ( weak) So I would do both for sure, you can of course still use your Frankenlift parts just replace springs and shocks. I'd also upgrade the rear as well while you are at it. JBA UCAs are a great upgrade as well And yes I would stick with the OME springs and shocks, they hold up great with the CRDs . |
