| Post subject: | LED Light Bar Installation help |
So I recently got a 47.5" LED light bar, and I plan to mount it on my roof finally (I'm making a cross bar like ones I had found on the DIY crossbar thread on here and attaching it to that...) I was wondering if anyone has wired their light bars (or even fog lights, I plan on getting some fog lights soon too) to a rocker switch, and if they have any suggestions on how to do it/where to put it/anything like that.... I'm also open to suggestions and tips for wiring the light bar itself. Any help would be greatly appreciated! My Liberty is a 2005 sport Thanks for any help! |

come up with a mounting bracket for it to mount up close to the front windshield. wireing is easy. fuse, relay, 12 gauge wire absolute minimum! larger to a certain degree is better for low voltage runs. if its a 300 watt bar, and the run is shorter then 15 feet, go with 10 gauge with a 25 amp fuse and a 40 amp or so relay. a larger sized relay gives you room to do small upgrades in the future. going back to fuses, if the light bar draws 20 amps, you don't want a 80 amp fuse. size the fuse slightly above the light bars amperage draw. you decide where and how the switch gets mounted. |
