Probably vibration........have you tried to tighten or shim it in place?

This happens on most of them. I have a zip-down around something below it, and then a second one that goes through the loop/handle to keep it from doing this.

I have the same thing, seems to be random though. Sometimes it will pop out in a day and sometimes it will go weeks.

Had the same problem with mine until I read on this forum that the stick can be longer than the tube which causes this problem. Solution was simple; I simply cut about 1/2 inch off the bottom so it did not bottom out on the pan. Problem solved, stick stays in now at all times and I remarked the stick with a new hot full mark above the old mark. I run the oil level a little high anyway just to make sure there is no foaming on cold startups...

Are you talking about the engine or transmission dip stick

Couple of days after I posted this I pulled the dipstick out and rotated it 180 degrees. Hasn't came out since. Fixed? I don't know. I'll post if it pops again, otherwise assume this works

Happens on mine too. Haven't found anything that will fix it. Some people zip tie them down.

I decided not to cut mine...instead I added two more bends (which effectively shortens the length) with some pliers and it has not come out since...still reads fine.
