Wow!

Can't believe I can't figure this out!

K, after washing the inch of mud off my engine I went back to return a loan a tool.

No problems on the way to the store.

In the parking lot I had a bit of a sputter.. Which is normal after washing the engine. But unlike it usually does, it got worse and then just died. Flatbed all the way home.

This morning I verified it has fuel pressure at the rail, (also tried a shot or two of ether), verified it has compression 180 psi. I also verified it has spark a blue spark.

What the hell!?!?

Fuel, spark and compression but no start. All relays and fuses appear good.

I am leaning towards and electrical issue because of the cam and crank sensors are out of sync you won't get a spark. Maybe the pcm?? Because I fed know the idiot light didn't come on while I was doing the bunny hop.

darn!!!

Alright boys, help me out here

The camshaft sensor has 775ohm resistance.. If that helps??

Fixed it!!!

Got a tip from a friend (Kayak) and unhooked the battery for a couple of hours. I also pulled the coil on plugs and noticed they were wet. While the coils were out I changed my plugs and also out my spare (dry) set of coils on. Coils 4 and 6 were covered in coolant (from the overheat incident) and the rest were covered in water and mud!

So let's sum this up. If water reaches the bottom of your coil on plugs, the spark energy will go into the top of your engine (the spark plug well) and not into the spark plug where it needs to be. When I checked for spark I was checking off the top of the block where your supposed to.

So write this down, keep a 10mm socket and rag on hand just to remove and dry your coils if you ever plan to play with water.

Glad you got it fixed! Always good to know a solution to a possible future problem. :JEEPIN:

Anytime.

There have been several issues with kj over the past while... They have been all electrical.

4x4Kayak is an invaluable friend, who always seems to have the right idea when it comes to things I can't figure out.
