I'm looking for front struts for my 06 crd with arb steel bar and winch and 3" lift. I'm trying to find a long travel heavy duty adjustable front strut. Does anyone make a decent one or is old man emu the best way to go?

JBA coilovers are adjustable.

Yes..... Yet.

Although, wheels are turning :)

I've imagined, instigated and even (recently) invested in some new hardware that should increase front end travel, and safety (but not widen the stance).. No telling if it will work yet. First, I'm finishing the steel diff, then comes the suspension.

My ironman coils have officially sagged to the point of useless, lol

Imagine, we can't just drop the diff straight down... No way, it's a low pinion diff and the tail cone would hit the cradle... So we have to drop the whole cradle... Or do we????

If the axle tubes (openings) are at the front of the diff, what's stopping us from just tipping the diff forward (lowering the tubes) an inch or so??? Custom bracketry. What's my specialty? Brackets.

Tipping would offset centreline of the driveline, but that can be corrected with z dimension movement. I think, in theory this would also allow the driveshaft to power the pinion in a straight line. Like the front cv wouldn't work as hard and the rear cv would stay at the same angle.

This tipping idea has nothing to do with the "safety" mentioned above, that's a different story.

Again, just a theory I am working on.

Love

your neighbourhood hack job :) just kiddi g

the limit is not the suspension

it's the CV joint

if you fix the CV joint there are options

if don't fix the CV joint - it doesn't matter.

Or, shim the Cradle down half an inch and the rack up half and inch.. Get an alignment and call it a day..

If 3.5" is the limit for the cvs and you wanna go 4", half inch of shim should fix that. Can't speak for ubj contact, unless you have al's a arms, and your feeling risky lol, mount the bj on the underside of the arm... Problem solved.

Sorry for my brevity, short on time
