| Post subject: | Issues with my shifter |
Hey guys. So I've been having problems with my shifter. I tried searching the internet and couldn't find much pertaining to my problem. I saw a lot of not shifting out of Park but that's not my problem. So to start off, a year or so ago, my shifter had it's first problem. When I would go to shift to Drive, I would depress the button, as I pulled back, take my finger off the button and pull the shifter back to allow it to stop on Drive with the stop. The shifter wouldn't stop on Drive but would stop on 2nd gear or sometimes go all the way back into 1st gear (though sometimes it would randomly stop in Drive). It wasn't a big deal as it didn't move too freely so I was just careful if I needed to upshift into Drive from 2nd or 1st gear as to not accidentally push it into reverse. But now, just in the last couple days, if I pull the shifter into 1st or 2nd gear, it doesn't downshift into those gears and stays in drive. Anyone have any ideas? If this isn't clear, ask and I'll try to explain better or post a video |

Don't mean to bump this thread but I did some research. Could the issue be a worn/stretched out shift cable? What's the best way to diagnose a messed up shift cable? Is it possible to readjust it? |
