I am going to change all my fluids/filters and was wondering what everyone was running/why. This is in reference to the "gasser" diffs, transfer case, transmission, and oil. I did search but only found posts on in the CRD section.

Since you wheel it 85w-140 dino gear oil front and rear(the cheap stuff,I use Valvoline myself),ATF+4 only in t-case and trans(auto).Best bet is to use the trans filter kit from the dealer only.

The reason for all the questions is because I am going to be taking a road trip from GA to CO and back to GA. Yep... no longer in CO anymore :( . Anyway I am giving my rig a well deserved overhaul before the trip and wanted to get some opinions before starting. Check on the diff, t case and trans question, thanks Troy. I was thinking of switching over to Mobil 1 instead of Castrol High Mileage for oil and going with a Mobil 1 filter. Any thoughts? Also for the guys with bumpers, skids, and a lot of added weight, what are you doing as far as brake pads? Anyone running drilled or slotted rotors? Back in my Japanese vehicle.... eehmmm.... racer days, lol, I had some slotted and drilled rotors which were amazing. Now on an off-road application I can see rocks and other debris potentially getting stuck in them. Anyone running them/thoughts? :JEEPIN:

Mobil 1 and there filter are good.

As far as drilled and slotted rotors I'd run far away from them, actually increases braking since less material to dissipate heat.

I run Black Magic brakes in the front, they make them for a stock KJ also.
