so i have been reading through the forums. I notice alot of you mudducks prefer the OME lift. i will be going that route evevtually, but for now i need to get wheeling. The Libby needs tires and alignment bad before i can drive it. It will be a DD, so my question is. Anyone here running with the rusty lift. pro's/con's..? |

LOL Oh well OME is a proven lift over many many miles , personally have ran up to 100,000 on one before swapping out Rustys spring rate for the front is only 310 lb, same as the front and yes it will sag fairly fast Installedone under protest and the guy went off roading twice with us Both rear shocks blew and it was sitting 1.5 inches above stock in less than a year Not a good lift at all OME 927 for example is rated at 400 lbs and ride on and off road is very good, not harsh just good firm ride, no brake dive , slowing down for RR tracks etc like when running stock |

I remember a neighbor here changed from Rusty to OME lift kit on his Libby after about a month, he felt it terrible for DD and passing through a gravel road. |

Another option: If you can get your hands on a set of Ironman springs for the Jeep Liberty diesel they are a very viable alternative and cost is slightly lower than OME springs.. There are some including myself on here who have have the Ironman spring setup installed on daily drivers and love the ride and handling... |

I didn't notice any complaints in the forums about the RRO, i have seen a ton of people suggesting the Frankenlift so you may be on to something there, lol. Since its gonna be my daily for awhile its not gonna hit any exreme off road. ( building an engine for my foxbody ). Trying to keep the cost to around 2 grand for lift and tires. I will look into the Franky, allj has some nice looking lifts but my pockets are not that deep with both of these projects going at the same time. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk |

Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk None on the RRO??? Oh well so what are you wanting to spend and how much height do you want? Its all spelled out many times on here but for 2.5 inches OME 927/948 springs and shocks 835.70 for 3 inches ( now up to about 870) same springs and shocks but use a 1/4 inch top plate and one extra upper isolater per side in back for 3.75 inches of lift same springs and shocks But add a 3/8 inch clevis and two ( total per side ) upper iso's but then you will also need the JBA UCAs With the Frankenlift you'll also need the JBA UCAs as well making it more expensive above prices from http://www.jeepinbyal.com You can do a little cheaper shocks ( bilstein) but would fully recommend the full OME kit Have installed a lot of each ( over 35 Liberty lifts installed here plus several on mine for testing etc ) |

Yes, there are tons of lift posts here. I want to go full OME, i was under the impression that the rockfather deluxe ( i got the link from the OME site ) was an old man lift.? I would like to keep the cost of the lift around a grand as i need tires and brakes as well. I am only looking for around 3" s for now. Just gonna fit 245/70/r16 under it. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk Even 2.5 inches is enough for 245-70-16s If wanting to keep it cost effective then just do the springs and shocks and be done. Need bumpstops of course but just the $835.70 plus them . Here is one of mine at 2.5 inches and running two size bigger than the 245-70-16s ( 265-70-16s) ![]() Here is one of my friends with over 3 inches of lift and 245-70-16s on it ( white one )

Based on what I see in the thread above... My Rockfather II kit came with their "under the top" spacer, which alone the site claims is 1.5" of lift. I have 927 springs, which above shows 2.5" alone? So have they sent me an impossible kit to install? Sounds like it, and looks like it as well. It is an impossible install on the CRD. So really if I have the 927s and the 3/8" spacer, that's more like 3" of lift if I'm hearing you right up there? |

You should just send it back really, the OTT spacer is junk, doesn't work well Next stock CRD springs are rated higher than the 927s you are going to replace them with and won't hold up well Only OME springs I use on customers CRDs are the 790s which are rated at 500 lb and work great. |

Tom, are you able to align just fine with the 790s on? Tech talked me out of them, because whatever custom bumper I plan on building won't match the ARB monstrocity. Yea, I'm not going to put the OTT's on. It was impossible geometry to get those even installed. Back to my other question based off of this thread... Is the 927s worth about 1.5"-1.75" alone? and the the 3/8" clevis and 3/8" top spacer get you to about 2.5" of lift up front? |

OME 927s give you 2.5 inches of lift by themselves The clevis and top plate are extras you can add for extra height 1/4 inch top plate gives you 1/2 inch more lift so with 927s and top plate =3 inches If you add both top plate and clevis then you need the JBA UCAs since you will be at 3.75 inches in front and yes you can align with the 790s up front, they are way stiffer at 500 lb -vs- the 927s at 400 But I have ran both the 927s and the 790s with a ARB front bumper and no alignment issues at all |

Just wanted to add that a bumper/winch will take some of your lift. I lost about 0.5 (see measurements below), but the bumper I built is full width, 1/4" frame tie ins, winch plate and fairlead mount plate, and the skin is 3/16"...I think the design is similar to others, so can't be that much heavier than other bumpers. I am considering going to the 790s to get the lift back. Tom, how tough were those 790s to compress????? 927s are crazy enough. |
