Newbie here :)

I read the info in the lift section and I still have a couple of questions>
First, what I have: 2006 Jeep kj limited with the 6 cyl engine, select track and the 17 inch rims

question:

I am hesitating between the 2 inch BDS lift and the OME HD lift. I know the OME is the reference but its also the most expensive here in canada, I can get the BDS lift and had 2 front struts for about 800$ canadian or I can get the OME HD for about 1300$..... There is a big diff in price where i am. I am also thinking of getting front 1/4 inch plates and extra rear isolator for about half inch of extra lift for a total of about 2.5 inches

Question 1: besides springs, struts and rear shocks, will i need to modify anything else besides the rear brake line brackets (as per this thread)?
Question 2: Any other way to reasonably lift the jeep about 2.5 inches? ex: can I add 2002 front and rear springs plus 1/2 inch plates/isolators to have about 2 inches of lift?

Thanks for any info. I am planning the lift to be purchased and completed by end of October.

OK to sit things right from the get go
OME will give you 2.5 inches of lift with nothing added like clevis and top plate
BDS gives you about 2.25 , plus the rear shocks are about the cheapest things they could find.
Of course you know you'll need fronts,
I've installed one BDS and a whole bunch of Ironman and OME, I prefer OME personally just a better lift over all
2002 springs are not available, haven't been since April 12,2002
If you wanted to get just stock replacement springs, you could add a top plate for 1/2 inch lift, and 3/8 inch clevis for another 3/4 inch so you'd have 1.25 inches of lift
On 2006 you have to make a 3 inch long bracket to drop the rear brakelines down some

I don't understand this kit. I've used BDS in the past on different vehicles and they always had great riding, great quality springs. I can't say the same for their shocks. This kit seems as if it uses the stock front struts. That's not cool.

I know the owners of BDS personally
have talked to them a lot regarding KJs and KKs
and they simply keep saying the market is not near big enough for them to invest any more time or money into them.
They looked over my setup on the 04 and stated theres the way to go on a KJ.
But they will never produce anything near that.
They sell 30 JKs /20 TJs /25 Full Size GM pickups to maybe one KJ
Yes for other vehicles BDS does in fact produce some great kits under their BDS banner and Zone OffRoad

Yeah that makes sense. I did a full Zone Off-road lift on my XJ and it drove so beautiful. Love their products

Great guys. Thx for the info. Will check jeep in by all. Might be able to find four springs and will get the shocks separate. Let me know if you have any other suggestions. Would not go for those day star stuff you put on the springs but maybe a 2 inch spring with spacers between strut and the top

Don't go for the OTT spacers either, just as bad
OME 927/948 springs work great and give you 2.5 inches of lift

Ok thx. What combo front struts rear shocks would you suggest? Something balancing reasonable price // good quality

Ex: rancho 5000 front struts and rear shocks
KYB....

Fully agree the OME is a great lift, however I have no experience with other lifts.

Just FYI though, if you load it up on 927/948 (e.g. bumper and winch), be prepared to lose some of the 'original' lift...my sig says I lost 0.5", but it is now closer to 3/4" loss of height in the front after ~6 months.

So my advice is to ensure you buy the correct springs for the planned 'end build', or be ready to replace them again (needs a really good hydraulic compressor to dis/assemble). I will likely install the HD-diesel (790) ones for my gasser to get the lift back.

Good luck! :JEEPIN:
