Hi guys, i just got a 2006 Liberty 65th anniversary edition with a auto tranny and 3.7 V6 with 99k miles on it. the car runs smooth and dont make any odd noise but it vibrates when im stopped and it dont matter which gear i am, neutral, park or drive, all feels the same. its not too much, but its enough to shake a little bit the passenger seat and my cellphone windshield mount.
if the car is cold, it dont vibrates. but after a little driving it starts. My first tought was the motor mounts, but i was told that the mounts were ok but the engine had a misfire and it was probably because of worn out spark plugs. after the sparks replecement, oil and air filter, they told me that the misfires stopped. but i took the car and after 10min driving, it still vibrating, nothing changed.
i saw some people saying that a rough idle is normal for the 3.7 v6 and some have changed a bunch of parts with no sucess solving it. everything else feels smooth. cold startup is smooth. aceleration is normal and smooth with no loss of power, no rpm variation while idle (it idles about 600 rpm but always stand still like that), shifting is also smooth and the car dont increase vibration when the AC is on. since i dont have much money to spend, should i be worried or this is normal?
maybe its a dumb question but im new in the jeep and truck world. thanks!
A small vacuum leak, i.e. bad hose, etc... can cause a low idle condition. Check all hoses and fittings on intake and make sure you do not have a small vacuum leak anywhere.
