My cruise control doesn't work on my 2006 Jeep Liberty CRD since I had it worked on for major problems, the main problem being bad rockers. Before I had Geordi come up and do the complete service repair (replaced rockers, timing belt, tensioners, serpentine belt, water pump, glow plugs, head bolts, EGR removed and bypassed, and put on power tune) I had it looked at by 2 mechanics and two dealerships. One of the mechanics thought it was the PCM (ECM) and replaced it with a used unit, but that did not help so the original was put back on and programed by a dealer. Now, since I had all the major work done my cruise control doesn't work, light doesn't even come on. Can anyone tell me what to look for and what the problem might be? I read some in this forum and some seem to think it might be due to the ECM being removed and re-installed and re-programed. Someone said the cruise might have to be turned on through the ECM by a programmer. I'm not sure the dealers around here know how or are capable of performing this task, even if that is the problem. It was working fine before all the work. Any and all help and suggestions would be appreciated. Jim |
