Im not real into taking my Renegade off road but I do like the look. Could you give my some sugestions on which lift is the best bang for the buck. I would like a 2.5" lift that has good road manners and I dont want to have to spend $800 for something like the Frankinlift or Rockfather II. Thanks in advance. |

I think your best bet for ride and "the look" would be Rustys coil lift. It Will also work pretty well off road too. |

If you want just the look, I think you can do fine with a spacer lift. You do sacrifice some ride quality, but you save a few hundred bucks. A lot of people are happy with the daystar spacer lift |

Not so much I don't think.....Those spacer lifts do a lot of bangin in the front end (at least mine did) Maybe a combo would work ...coils up front and spacer in the back ? |

Daystar, can get a Daystar installed and the front end realigned at 4WD for less than 500.00. mine was 650 at the time I got mine and got struts and shocks and wheel it at lease one weekend a mounth. No bad ride or any suspension problem so far. They re tighten everything a week after the install and when I got my skid plates put on they check it also just a thought |

I would be doing the install on anything I get myself. I have all the tools and know how right in my own garage. Thanks for all the responces and if you guys/gals have any more comments let me know. So far I think the Rustys coil lift looks like its good and for $400 I dont think thats out of my range. Thanks again. |

Oh My God! A Reny that won't see the off-road! *Boo Hoo Hoo* You could've saved a TON of money and gotten the sport. |

I like the way the Rene looks, with the flat hood and "bolt on" flares. I may eventualy use it off road but for now I think it will stick to light duty. |

I am the same way. I've been using mine for towing, and some work around the farm, but nothing super tough off-road. Now that I am out of the warranty, I am less afraid to make the Mods.... |

That's what I said until I tried the offroading. SO much fun! Even if you don't go often, it's nice to have the capability. It's better that you're honest about what it will be used for - I always laugh a little when I see the huge built-up trucks with super swampers on them that I know have seen nothing but pavement. |

When thinking about a lift I think you need to sit down and think about how long you are going to keep it, what you haul etc. I went with the OME heavy dutys front and rear with Ranchos for several reasons, first was I am planning on keeping it for a long time so now I have a great set of springs/struts/shocks for the long haul. Second did not want to go way high and put extra stress on the front suspension etc. With the OME heavy duties I am at 16 inches plus a liitle at the bottom of the pinch weld front and rear. Looks good, rides great and will not have to worry about the suspension for quite a while. So you can go cheaper with Daystar etc(spacer), or you can go much more in price like the best (Frankenlift) but if you are keeping it for a while I would at least get a kit that replaces the springs/ struts and you will not be sorry |
