I went to install my transmission and transfercase skid plates and I accidently used the wellnut ( I believe thats the right name for it ) that is slightly deeper for a transfer case hole. Will the shorter one intended for the transfer case skid grab enought to use on the transmission skid?

Tried the closest dealer and they couldn't even find a part number for it so I tried a hardware store no luck eithor!

If you can get 3-4 threads of the bolt into the nut it should be fine.

I used one of the shorter wellnuts for the transmission skid and it worked fine. thanks. Even if you don't do a lot of offroading the transmission skid is a must for CRD owners because it offers portection for the oil filter that hangs way too low.

I'll have to go search through the CRD section......
Has anyone tried relocating the filter or installing a bypass filter on a CRD yet? One of these days I hope to find one I can check out for the bypass system I have available.

I would like to know as well. I modified my skid with spacers which dramaticly took some some clearance away from me. But I would love to see a bypass or relocation for the CRD oil filter

What skid did you use? The one for 2005-2006 seems to have plenty of room to remove the filter and has access for the oil drain.
