Friday my Powertrax came UPS from 1CalKid.
Saturday, I didn't install the locker due to a:
My buddy called about 11 p.m., so we went out and did a little wheeling. A little different line lead to this:
A truck with very large tires must have come through here after the last time I was here. This is a 31x10.50 stuck in about 40" of mud and water and yes it's extended all the way down. Just freewheeling in the water:
Plenty of traction over here, too bad my locker is sitting on the mantle instead of in my rearend:
The drivers side rear and passenger side front wheel would have made a paddle boat proud. The poor KJ was hopelessly stuck:
Oh yeah, I broke the cardinal rule and was out wheeling by myself. Over confident at how easy this mud was last weekend. After walking out, searching for cell phone service, we finally had a friend pick us up. Three trucks, two ATVs, a shovel, three tow straps and ten and one half hours later the Liberty was extricated. Yeah, we got stuck about midnight. I haven't been to sleep in over twenty four hours and I still have to clean the KJ. I think I'm going to stick to rock crawling and give up on this mud thing......... |

Should be just fine, I would be sure to check them though. The vent tubes should be higher than that. |

Water can enter from the ends. Swap the fluid. |

I know how that goes. I got stuck a week before I put my powertrax in. It does no good to the Jeep is it is still sitting in the box. I high centered mine going over a sand berm. |

Exactly. I don't care how good your seals are. If it has been sitting submerged you most likely have water in your fluid. |

My wife and I used to go rockhounding a lot by ourselves. No mud, but I got high centered really bad one time and went through the same senario. It wasn't as difficult to get it unstuck but I walked for hours to get cell service and get back to the vehicle. We spent the night in the Jeep until help came the next morning. Never again. The wife makes sure of that. |

Mutt feel better about the whole thing buy looking at the big picture. The Darwin Awards are for cases of death by stupidmule not injury by idiocy. Injury being stuck like chuck in this case. Me and my buddy have come to an understanding.... We don't go wheeling by ourselves, but if the urge shall overcome our pea sized shread of common sense, we will come to his aid only point and laugh at every possible moment. Parakeet P.S. Gotta love the Frankenlift huh Mutt. |

Mutt, don't fool yourself thinking you won't get stuck with a locker. I've been stuck with a Detroit True Trac in the front and Power Trax in the rear and high centered a few times. A winch is your friend to the rescue, when no ones around! |
